Sheep at the Window

Knitting, doodling, raising baby

My little shirt factory

For quite some time now I’ve been wanting to buy Yotam some nice clothes for the winter. Sadly – I’ve noticed that all the clothes for boys are really UGLY!

Nice, sparkly, funky, cool clothes for girls.

Boring, ugly, depressing clothes for boys. (Did I mention – ugly?).

Anyway – instead of doing what I normally do: get depressed and angry at the world (and I do it so well…), I’ve decided to pull up my sleaves, and do it myself! So – I bought some regular blank long sleaved shirts, and some acrilic paint, and <drum roll…> : a brilliant little thing called "textile medium". You mix it up with the acrilic paint, and just paint away on the clothes. (Of course Ayelet told me about it… little miss "know it all"… always there with her wonderful ideas at the right time).

I did 2 shirts, and I’m thinking of buying 10 more!!! It’s so much fun, and really really easy. Look:

This is bound to be Yotam’s favorite. And I’ll bet all the kids in kindergarden will be jelous. hahahahahahaa…

Sponge Bob. I don’t even know who he is, but this yellow shirt seemed perfect for him.

I’m so pleased :-)  I’m sitting here with a smug look on my face, dreaming of all the clothes to come.

I do hope the shirts will stay pretty after laundry. I may never wash them. Yotam will just have to be very very careful…

  • About the sheep

My name is Ayelet. I'm a designer, illustrator, mom to baby Toam (born in May 2008), knitter, somewhat-crafty, and mostly trying to figure out how everything fits together.

I try to live ecologically but sensibly. I'll recycle plastic for the rest of my life if you promise to never take away my clothes dryer.

This blog was given to me as a gift from my husband, Ez, on my 27th birthday and I've been using it since then as a sort of think tank/storage space for my thoughts, ideas, illustrations and crafty projects.
