Fear Factor
"We have nothing to fear but fear itself" – Roosevelt, probably.
Things that I’m afraid to do but found myself doing anyway this week:
1. Knit anything that is not a rectangle or a very simple hat.
Since my good friend Y found out she was pregnant (and that’s also why her full name will not be revealed here – not everyone knows yet), I got the idea to knit her new baby a sweater. I picked a neutral purple yarn that I had, bought Debbie Bliss’s "Baby knits for beginners", opened it on the "jacket with moss stitch bands" pattern, and 3 days later I have this:

If things keep progressing as nicely as they have so far, I plan to make a full set with the "simple hat" and "seed stitch baby booties" from the same book.
2. Send my work to a gallery, or somewhere where it might be (eek!) sold.
So, today I sent some illustrations to the Tiny Showcase. There really isn’t any risk involved – you send them your work, and if they like it, they print 50 copies and sell them for an affordable price. The artist receives a percentage of the profits.
3. Make a photo collage
Nothing artistic, but I made a photo collage today for a site I’m building. So far, I was scared of making a photo collage because I thought it will come out kind of strange. So today I made one, and it came out kind of strange.
2 out of 3 is not bad.
